:: Party Pants ::

There are some things which I have always dreamed of hanging up in my closet. Among them – a pale pink tulle midi skirt, the perfect leather jacket and glitter pants.

I busted these babies out for their first spin at T’s office holiday party. My background in southern hospitality and tiara-wearing may fit the bill of an attorney’s wife, but my pants were made to party.

Now, I tried my hand at playing that part – by ordering a dress from Rent the Runway. That one dress ended up being damaged by another customer, and after quite an ordeal  I received a whopping total of seven dresses. Of course, these made my pants look casual so I threw caution to the wind and went rogue.

As much as I love a good skirt, I really enjoy wearing the pants. Especially the sequined pants.

“Oh good – I like this one! You’ve been needing to change up your look.” – He who shall not be named

I’ll be the first to admit it – I do not like change, especially when it is something which has never failed me before. Aren’t we all a little bit afraid of change? Cutting your hair off, moving to a new city, buying a car – surely I’m not the only one who is always a bit apprehensive when it comes to the “new.” It’s splurging on an expensive beauty product, only to realize that you hate it. We face change constantly – and I’m not just talking about in Sephora.

When I was growing up, my dad had a Jeep Grand Cherokee Station Wagon. To say I was attached just wouldn’t do it justice. It had wood paneling along the side, and in the winter months, you had to turn it on at least 15 minutes before you left for school if you didn’t want to freeze. I’m 90% sure you rolled the windows down manually, and they stuck on occasion. If you ask my mom, she’ll give you a laundry list of what else was wrong with it. One day (probably in 1996), my dad told me they had sold the car. I mourned for months. It’s rare that I shed tears, but change can definitely do it. Much like the time James Harden was traded…. Let’s not go there.

So there, that’s why I don’t get to wild when it comes to my “look.” I know what I like, and I like to stick to it. That is, until I began searching for the perfect turban headband. This one isn’t exactly what I was looking for, but I just ordered one on Etsy that is certain to be the turban headband of my dreams. So, since every day is an opportunity to play dress up, I decided to be a little bit rock and roll chic… and throw in a pony tail. I know, so wild. What will I do next?!
