:: Valentino goes with Everything ::

These shoes are among my favorites. The story of how they found their forever home is another one of my favorites.

When I went to the Bahamas with Taylor’s family last January, we were pretty bummed (by we I mean his mom and I) to only have one day of sunshine out of the five we were there. The boys weren’t too concerned – we were at Atlantis and the casino was able to keep their attention for hours at a time.

Each night after dinner, I would join them, pick a number, and embarrassingly shout for that number no matter if it was one we had a bet on or not. Clearly not my first game of craps, but obviously I’ve always played the same way.

Between the three Robertson men, they are mathematic geniuses, and my preschool math capabilities can’t keep up with their odds-calculating minds. While I always join them in Vegas for the game, I don’t go consistently enough to be all that fantastic. I squeezed between the guys, Taylor’s dad gave me a few chips to play with, and I followed along – being coached the entire way.

An hour passed, two hours passed, and my chips began to rack up. Two hundred, three hundred… we were on a roll! Once I hit the target which I knew was in sight, I stepped back and announced that I was done.

Taylor looked at me a little baffled as to why I would stop – but it was getting late, and I had exactly what I wanted. Enough chips to go home and purchase the infamous Valentino Rockstuds!

As we were leaving for the Bahamas, I intended to come home with no less than seven blog posts. If it had been a New Year’s resolution, I would have epically failed. If you know me at all, you should know that I am NEVER on time when it comes to being ready – particularly when I think there might be a bit of leeway. Sure, I can make it to all business meetings or other appointments, but from dinners to basketball games, I am always late. Hence: “I’ll be ready in five minutes.”

On one of the seven days we were on vacation, these photos come from the one night I was early. By early, I mean that dinner probably was set for 7:00 and Taylor told me it was at 6:30. If this is true, then after four years, he totally understands how I function! It was so humid that this hair-do became my staple, and now I’ve forgotten how to do anything else. What’s your easy-go-to-up-do?!

If absence makes the heart grow fonder, you simply must adore me now! To say December was a crazy month would be a complete understatement. December was busier than my days of being a sorority president, campus activities leader, pageant competitor, spokesperson with two internships and college student all at once. I work in the event production business and we had such a wonderfully wild month that we took two weeks off post-holidays, plus I’ve been on island time! I am SO happy to be back, even though the frozen tundra that is New York Fashion Week beckons my name. (Can’t you hear it?!)

Have you ever been to Atlantis? If not, drop what you’re doing and jump on a plane now! Taylor’s family was so kind to invite me to join them in the Bahamas, even though it now means that their son can’t afford my good taste, after being spoiled by his dad’s excellent selections in wine, food, wine, dessert, and more really amazing wine. Not only did we have the most incredible dinners, but I joined the boys at the craps tables and, with a bit of a lot of advice, will soon be purchasing my dream shoes with my winnings! Our timing was excellent as well, since we missed the polar vortex and instead of a parka, I got to sport this fun find from Pemba Boutique!

Whether over my swimsuit or thrown on for exploring the resort, I adore my new romper! Seriously. Pineapples and pom poms? I die! Take a peak at their other great finds here!
